Could beat that in year 9/10 with the same weight javelin 😂
As a javelin thrower I’m very entertained
the offical weight for male adults is 800 gramm 700 is for under 20 and under 18 year olds
Dont quote me on this... but think its got something to do with smaller people and fast twitch muscle fibres ect..
I’m 6ft 4 and very skinny but I’ve thrown a 46m throw it’s all in the technique bro
Used to practise javalen in school, and ran like you, which proved pointless because you run stop then throw haha, your body does it automatically
Eddie, send a hug to Brazil, you are also very successful here.
You guys used the Mens Junior weight of 700g, senior men Javelin weighs 800g. A for effort but F for execution... Haha You guys must really redo these Olympic field events but go to a track and take with a University Coach for the Technical tips, would be great to see that ;)
Atleast just watch some youtube tips before doing it
I’ve had both biceps tendon relocation and rotator surgery....so I know your shoulder pain. After surgery it’s all good now. Still have my power.
When i was in school 12 years ago I set the record in English schools for 61 meters you got this titan
Both are throwing with low elbows. They must be fit, otherwise this is a sure way to get tennis elbow.
"Awesome" pronunciation of Jan Zelezny :D
I love Javelin, I wish i could have been there to help. its so explosive it all happens in a split second but its all about sequencing to generate that power.
You just need to learn the basics
hello from czech republic and slovakia
Quickly subscribed
Eddie I live in Canada and I am your Idol, I would love to see a baseball throw as quickly as possible when measured with radar. I played high level baseball and want to see how a strong person can throw the ball quickly. tks
Železný and Špotáková are both from Czech republick ... nowadays 6elezný is a coach of špotáková .. so she learnt something :D
Jan Železný, in english John Iron. Not Zelený, it is green in english :)
I would like to be able to show you how to throw a javelin but the world is in a bad place as of this comment
Eddie, please try cricket. Would love to see you do some fast bowling or some spin bowling .
So can Eddie still box against the mountain with his bad biceps....... a boxing match with lots of punches , that would hurt Eddie a lot
you should try climbing with magnus midtbø when the world opens up again
Made in China 😅
“A little bit muscle bound”
You're trying to throw it with your elbow. A little form goes a long way
Eddies looks a lot lighter and shorter than Jan Zelezney, I have met Jan, over 6ft tall, and around 175-180lbs he is, but Eddie is faster and lighter on his feet lol
Greatest what he do😉very funny and full of Entertainment .Intelligent and strong😮
Javelin is 70% Technique and 30% strength, so the result was expectable 💪
I like how you introduce different sports to people like this!
His first trow was my pr when i was 11yo
world record for Paralympic javelin throw is just over 62 meters. Considering the only thing he was missing was his non-dominant forearm, it probably didnt affect him too much (although im no expert) but id consider your weakened dominant arm throw of 37 meters is not bad at all for a complete noob.
Our world rekords!😌Btw he and she are from Czech republic like me.💪
It's coming up so short because you keep trying to put strength into it when it has actually very little to do with strength and a lot to do with speed of the arm and leverage - they kept their arms much straighter than that when running to throw it, but you two keep bending at the elbow and trying to whip it out there like you're throwing a baseball! You need to have flexibility of the upper body/ torso and a quick arm. I'd bet there are legitimately 14, 15 year old kids who can throw it 50. The difference is in the technique. Think of it this way: back in the ice age, our ancestors used spread throwers - just something they held in the hand to extend the reach of their arm, so that the spear they threw could get up to a greater speed. The longer you mark the lever (your arm / upper body) the more leverage you can apply to the javelin. When you BEND your arm, you are sucking out a huge amount of the advantage you get from leveraging that extended arm. Do you get it?
Why there is no proof in the video?
Maybe watching this a bit late but can someone explain the not having a bicep thing??
JAN ZELEZNY from Czech republic --javelin king
As a javelin thrower, this is painful lol
No dumbbel
No shame guys Železny was fucking beast he hold 6 of 10 most longest throws
0:36 Not true, the male "Olympic" javelin weighs 800g (1.8lbs), length up to 260-270cm (8ft 6-8ft10) and the female javelin weight 600g (1.3lbs), lengths up to 220-230cm
700g is thrown by u18 boys (under 18) Between 16 and 17 years old
800g is more difficult, it does not forgive mistakes like 700g or 600g is at all
O...My, twice the size and weigh of the world record holder, but not even 1/2 of the distance of Javelin. 😂
Strongman vs Stihl Timbersports disciplines 😉
eddie i dont do any training but am very skinny 9 stone looking for a shake to just gain some weight which of your products would you say would help me
Makes me want to start training again
Your taking your run ups with it in the wrong position, you aren't transferring any of the run up into the throw.
Lol, I was beating those distances at school and I weighed no more than 9 st
39 is not bad for someone like you its actually very decent . You have no clue what it takes for this sports to throw anything around throws. It takes skills and you have to be either insanely fast or strong or both of them at a decent lvl. Track and field sports at professional lvl are no joke especially throws. GL with your shoulder after that but im pretty sure with the steroids you use the next day you would feel nothing at all 😜
Eddie if you see any of these comments I am trying to sell an Eddie Hall signed bundle with 50% of the proceeds going to charity but am not having much luck, the bundle includes a signed t-shirt, signed event poster, signed deadlift photo, signed shaker bottle, your dvd, your book and a bonus signed Graham Hicks log lift photo. Any exposure you can get me to get as much money to charity as possible and help me clear some of my debts is greatly appreciated. Anyone reading this comment that is interested let me know!
Thor’s dad hahaha! If this was the final event Eddie tried that day, I’m not surprised his arm is hurting after trying the shot put, hammer throw and discus. I guess it all comes down to technique, if you haven’t got the correct technique, you’re at risk of injury. Still entertaining to watch and it’s good to try different sports.
Looks more like darts than javelin...
butchering czech names is TIGHT!
Now lets try an ultra marathon in the antarctic lol
Intro: "To the top of the mountain"
If he was hydrated that thing would have went into orbit
One of the reasons why he managed to throw is so far is because he locked out his front leg as he threw the jav. Doing that sends a reaction for back through his body, propelling himself over his front leg and transferring all the energy he's gained from his run-up into the throw, it's the same thing as bowling a cricket ball. It's one of the main contributing factors among other little technical things.
I really...really...really wanna see you use a English Longbow.
I think he could have thrown it 100 if it released from his hand just a split second later....
You know it DOESN'T have to stick in, right? XD
Try long/high/triple jump
Im in yr 7 and can throw a real javelin 51 metres And im still not in the state champions 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Pat runs like buzz light year
Next Olympic 5000m right 🤣😂🤣😂
When are you doing beast vs beast Mode adebayo akinfenwa
My longest javelin throw was 131 feet...39.9 meters
team Beast
Now for tossing the caber
The technique is the problem mate...with the proper technique you could do 50 60m no problem
runs up then dead stops when he throws lol
Wrong weight Eddie.......its 800 Grams not 700....700 is the weight for Mens 50 athletes......Failed again. Zero distance recorded. Jan Zelezny was one of the Greatest athletes there has ever been across any Olympic Discipline. He also trained far harder than you ever have.....he would shock you with what he did......educate yourself and it would help you in what you do. Also, use a Measuring tape.
If Eddie likes this comment im gonna throw my m8 like a javelin
Olympic jav is 800g and it doesn’t have to stick into the ground to count but if it doesn’t stick into the ground it’s probably a sucky throw
Next up Eddie Hall tries the 400m dash?
Love these record attempt videos. Please get a bigger wheel measurement tool, Much faster.
If you're surprised by Zelezny's appearance, you should look at Thomas Roehler...
Pretty sure that's an u17 javelin weight
That missing bit of bicep was taken by aliens to create a new god of war.
I see your measuring stick was made by Silverline, so you can probably add 10m onto your distance to account for error :D
With your massive strength I think you both could have got better distance if you did the run up and wind up more like the videos you showed. Anyway, this discipline looks like fun! I love seeing you try different stuff!
Hafthor is watching and is eyeballing that right bicep
I did this for my high school 2 years ago and I was terrible. It’s not really ab strength as much as mechanics in my experience
Those javelin officials sure stand close to where the javelin will land. They're nuts!
Can Eddie get his bicep fixed? like, can he reattatch the muscle to the bone
WHY IS YOUR CAMER ALWAYS DIRTY? DAMNIT
Since you two got together it is a one big competition but Eddie is like the older brother he has to win
You called him John "Green" (Zelený) in czech actually. His surname (Železný) literally means "made of iron" or "Ironman". Jan sounds like Yan a Ž sounds like "S" in the word "vision".
Phahaha “just get Thor’s dad to weigh it” lmaoo😂😂🤣
Eddie lad it’s a whole body action not just your arm. If you look at the throwers, it’s a whole body action. ❤️💖
Yan zer les knee
I would be more curious and interested to see how you really perform with tips from an actual Olympic athlete 🤷🏻♂️ otherwise these are just silly video
Thor's Dad is a master weigh-er.
The olympic javelin is 800g
Really now... I'm amused at the fact that they looked up the women's record and thought it's a suitable target for them... Like, show some more respect to one of the most prestigious Olympic disciplines..
What is the name of the intro song . Plz .. somebody tell me
How about sumo
Haah im from czech republic :)))🇨🇿
Never saw something worse
you ruin your momentum with that stutter step you do right before you throw. gotta plant that left foot when you're ready to throw and push off with your right. even with a torn bicep.. could get some more distance that way.
You actually don't throw with the bicep, so much as the deltoids, shoulder, and back. Pace it out over three steps, over the shoulder on one, drop it from the shoulder to arm extension below the waste and swinging back on two, as your right foot trails, then keep it moving with your arm straight, rotating up and over the shoulder as you right foot comes forward, and when it plants, release with your hand rolling over your wrist at full extension on the top. edit: I think I had the foot work backwards; it's a counterbalance: down and back when you left trails back, and release while planting your left foot, when throwing with the right arm. That brings your body mass into the throw as you snap forward and release. Yeah, if you plant with your right foot while throwing right handed, you're basically directing most of the energy into the ground through your foot and wasting it. Ultimately, it's more shoulder than bicep, and you need that mobility and rotation of the shoulder to bring your arm straight up and through as you snap forward. Those three steps, at the end of your warm up sprint to the line, with the last pace planting on the line as you release. It's a combination of momentum, timing, and technique. There are several different ways to approach the line, pace yourself through the throw, and release, but the arm movement is generally the same, while the throw tends to be both a transfer of momentum, and a whip-like movement, delivering energy to the javelin for the throw. I haven't done it since high school, not counting spear throwing, which is a bit different, but that was how I learned to throw, more or less. iirc, I got 45 meters as a best throw, and that wasn't with much practice, because it was just Gym class, and they cycled through everything, without spending too much time on any one activity. I think we had a a day or two one year, with those particular activities.
